CARIA. Knidos. Circa 490-465 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 6.26 g, 9 h). Forepart of a roaring lion to right. Rev. Head of Aphrodite to right, wearing pearl necklace and with her hair falling down the back of her neck and tied at the end; all within incuse square. Cahn 64/2 and pl. 15, 64 (this coin, V31/R48). SNG Copenhagen 217 (same dies). A beautifully toned and very well pedigreed example of splendid late Archaic style. About extremely fine.
